How each one actually works
On-grid, off-grid, or hybrid?
All three put panels on your roof. What differs is where the power goes when the sun sets and when BILECO goes down — which is the whole basis for choosing between them. Here is the wiring, in plain terms.
LIWANAG
On-grid / grid-tieThe simplest and cheapest way to cut your bill. No battery.

Your panels feed a grid-tie inverter that powers whatever your house is using at that moment. Daytime consumption comes off your roof instead of off your bill. At night there is nothing stored, so you draw from BILECO exactly as you do now.
Fewest components, fewest things to fail, lowest upfront cost of the three — the battery is most of the price difference.
In a brownout: it goes dark too. Anti-islanding shuts the inverter off the instant the grid drops — a safety rule that stops your roof energising a line someone is working on. On-grid solar cannot back up your house. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something.

Hybrid — on-grid and off-gridCuts the bill and rides through brownouts. One inverter does both.

A hybrid inverter runs your house off the roof during the day and puts the surplus into a battery instead of wasting it. In the evening the house draws the battery down. BILECO stays connected underneath as a fallback for the nights the battery runs out.
You choose which circuits sit on the backed-up side — typically lights, fans, the router and the fridge. Heavy loads like aircon usually stay on the grid side, because backing them up multiplies the battery you need.
In a brownout: it switches over by itself. The backed-up circuits keep running off the battery, then hand back to the grid when power returns. You do not go outside and start anything.
Where it wins
- Lower bill and backup — the only package that does both
- Switches to battery automatically, no genset, no fumes, no pull cord
- Grid stays underneath as a fallback, so a flat battery is not a blackout
- Smaller battery than off-grid, because you only back up what matters
What you give up
- Costs more upfront than LIWANAG — the battery is the difference
- The battery is a wear item and will need replacing eventually
- More to commission and set up than a plain grid-tie system
- Backed-up circuits are a fixed set chosen at design time, not everything in the house
Fits you if: BILECO drops often enough to be a real problem, you want the bill down as well, and losing the fridge or the workday costs you money.

Off-grid — fully independentNo utility connection at all. Your roof and your battery are the whole supply.

Panels, a battery bank and an inverter, with no wire to BILECO. The battery has to carry the whole house overnight and through cloudy stretches, so it is sized for every load you own rather than a chosen few — which is why the battery, not the panels, drives the cost.
Built for places where the grid is unreliable, absurdly expensive to reach, or simply not there. If a pole run to your lot would cost more than a system, this is the cheaper answer.
In a brownout: you never notice one. You are not connected to the grid, so what happens on the BILECO line stops being your problem. The flip side is that a long run of grey days is your problem alone.
Where it wins
- No electricity bill at all, and no exposure to future rate hikes
- Grid outages stop being relevant to your house
- Works on lots where extending the line is the expensive part
- No utility paperwork or connection approvals to wait on
What you give up
- Biggest battery of the three, so upfront cost can match or beat hybrid
- No fallback — if the battery empties, the house is dark
- You have to think about load: running everything at once has a limit
- Adding a big appliance later can mean resizing the battery too
Fits you if: there is no service at the lot, connecting would cost more than the system, or independence from BILECO is the point rather than a side effect.

Why we started
Power here costs too much and arrives too rarely
Every household on this island has quietly built its life around two facts: the electric bill takes a bigger bite than it should, and the power goes out when you least want it to. Dinner gets replanned. The kids study by phone light. The bill arrives anyway.
We are four engineers who think that is a solvable problem rather than a permanent condition. Not with a cheaper bill you have to argue for — with a roof that generates its own power, quoted as one fixed all-in number with nothing added later.

Straight answers
The questions everyone asks first
Will solar keep my lights on during a brownout?
Only if it has a battery. ILAW and SANDIGAN do. LIWANAG is on-grid and will not — when BILECO goes down it shuts off too. That is not a limitation we chose; anti-islanding is a safety rule that stops your system electrocuting a lineman working on the pole. Anyone who tells you an on-grid system backs up your house is selling you something.
How much does it cost?
One fixed all-in number, quoted to your roof and your bill, covering equipment, install, permits and paperwork. Nothing gets added afterwards. Use the calculator for a savings estimate, then request the free written estimate for your exact price.
How do I know you're not a scam?
Fair question, and the right one to ask. We are a registered Philippine corporation, the founders are named on this page, every job gets licensed electrician sign-off, and nothing is due until you approve the design. We are early — we would rather you check us out slowly than take our word for it.
What happens in a typhoon?
Mounting is the part that matters. Rails land on rafters rather than sheet metal, clamps are torqued to spec, and every roof penetration is flashed and sealed. We would rather quote a smaller array anchored properly than a bigger one that becomes a sail.
Do you handle the permits?
Yes — the electrical permit and the paperwork for your connection are part of the package, not an extra. You should not have to project-manage your own build. Ask us about exporting surplus back to BILECO and we will tell you exactly where that stands rather than guess.
Can I pay monthly?
